CCD's come in line arrays
and two dimensional arrays.
Linear CCD image sensors are essentially
a photodiode array forming the central part of the device with analog
shift registers located on both sides. The shift registers transfer the
charges generated in the photodiodes to the output circuit.
These sensors feature high sensitivity and spectral response
from 330 to 1100nM as well as good resolution performance. Good near
infrared performance is enhanced by the sensor structure and a thin optically
active area.
Two
dimensional arrays are further broken down into full frame
sensors and frame transfer devices. Peripheral electronics and camera
kits are available for most sensors. |
